| 1. NdFeB Permanent Magnetic Alloy Preparation by
Co-Precipitation Reducing Diffusion
|
|
The new neodymium-iron-boron alloy preparation
technology, invented by Professor Yongchia Zhou at Naikai University,
gained patent world-wide. China hence becomes the 3rd country who owns the
intelligence right of producing NdFeB materials after Japan and the US. The
new production technology features lower energy consumption and low cost.
 |
| 2. Rare Earth Nano Display Screen |
| The 1st rare earth nano display screen in China was
invented by Changchun Applied Chemistry Research Institute of Chinese
Academy of Science. The projection screen coated with nano rare earth oxide
has wider viewing angle, high clarity, and stable brightness and color.
 |
| 3. Environmental, Ecological and
Toxicological Research on Rare Earth Application in Agriculture |
| The research covers rare earth pedology, botanical
physiology, and rare earth application effect in agriculture, rare earth
toxicological hygiene and super-microanalysis. The 4 year project is
supported by the National natural Science Fund.
 |
| 4. High Power Capacity NiMH battery
for Automobile |
| Tianjin Peace Gulf Batteries Group Co. Ltd. successfully
developed a book-sized sealed Ni-MH cell with 100 Amh. The cell was tested
on electric vehicle and has a range of 228 kilometers and can reach the top
speed of 128 km per hour.
 |
| 5. Rare Earth Promotes Synthesis of
Anti-Cancer Medicine |
| After 8 years' hard work, researchers in the Chemical
Institute of Tianjin University develops a new technique using rare earth to
promote the synthesis of taxol, the most important anti-cancer medicine.
This new technique increases the output of taxol by 5 times.
 |
| 6. Magnetic Refrigerating Materials at
Room Temperature |
| Sichuan University and Sichuan Rare Earth Materials and
Application Engineering Research Institute completed the research of room
temperature magnetic refrigerating materials which is a foundation of air
conditioning and nuclear waste treatment applications
 |
| 7. Europium Electrolysis Reducing
Process |
|
The new process done by Beijing Non-Ferrous Metal
Research Institute features higher product purity, shorter process time,
lower production cost, and little pollution. A production line of high
purity europium oxide utilizing this new technology has been set up in Gansu
and will reach 18 metric tons per year.
 |
| 8. Rare Earth Aluminate Blue Phosphor
for High Colorable Lamp Awarded |
|
The rare earth aluminate blue phosphor for high colorable
lamp invented by Shanghai Yuelong New Materials Co. Ltd. introduces Mn into
the composite of phosphor, improves the coloration of phosphor.
 |
| 9. The Largest High Temperature Sm-B-Co
Super Conductor Single Crystal |
|
The Crystal Growth Lab at Shanghai Jiaotong University
succeeded in growing the largest high temperature Sm-B-Co superconductive
single crystal in the world.
 |
| 10. New Rare Earth Semiconductor
Material |
|
Nanjing University, Physics Institute of the Chinese
Academy of Science and Motorola Chinese Research Institute jointly announced
that they found lanthanum aluminate and LaAion have better thermal stability
than other materials with high dielectric constant. It plays an important
role in replacing traditional silicon oxide for the next generation
semiconductor devices.
